Starting July 23, 2026, Santa Clarita shoppers can earn 5% cash back on purchases made at local retailers and restaurants located in the Plum Commerce Center and Bouquet Plaza through the new Open Rewards pilot program. The program is designed to reward consumers and support Santa Clarita’s small business community, making it easier than ever to shop and save. The Open Rewards program invites residents, visitors, and workers to discover these local businesses while earning rewards along the way.

How it Works
Step 1: Download the Open Rewards app.
You can gain rewards by either linking your card or snapping a photo of your receipts.
Step 2: Link (or don’t link) your card.
Step 3: Shop at participating local businesses.
Every qualifying purchase automatically earns 5% cash back in the app, which you can redeem toward future purchases. Rewards are valid for three months, encouraging you to keep exploring local businesses.

How do I earn rewards?
You earn 5% back on eligible purchases at participating Santa Clarita businesses in the Plum Commerce Center and Bouquet Plaza. If you link a credit or debit card in the app, rewards are tracked automatically. Prefer not to link a card? Just select the business in the app, tap “Claim Rewards,” and upload a photo of your receipt. Rewards typically appear in your wallet within 48 hours.
How much can I earn?
You’ll earn 5% back on every eligible purchase, up to a maximum of $5.00 in rewards per transaction. Each user can earn up to $100 in total rewards, while program funds last.
How do I earn rewards in Santa Clarita?
Any business in the Plum Commerce Center and Bouquet Plaza off Bouquet Canyon Road is eligible. Use the “Discovery” tab in the app to explore participating restaurants, convenience stores and services in these shopping centers.
How do I redeem my rewards?
Rewards must be used on future purchases. After making another purchase at a participating Santa Clarita business, open the app, tap “Redeem”, choose the business and upload your receipt (or select your linked transaction). Once verified, you’ll receive your cash reward via your preferred payout method.
Can I use my rewards instantly at checkout?
No. Rewards cannot be applied instantly or used as a discount at the register. You must make a new purchase first, then redeem your rewards afterward through the app.
I made a purchase but didn't get my reward. What should I do?
Check if you submitted a Claim (to earn rewards) or a Redeem (to cash out rewards). If you only claimed but didn’t redeem, open the app, tap “Redeem”, select the business, and upload your receipt.

Do I need to link a card to participate?
No, linking a card is optional. It allows for automatic rewards tracking. If you don’t link a card or pay with cash, you’ll need to upload receipts manually to earn and redeem.
What needs to be on my receipt for it to count?
Your receipt must show:
- Business name and Pasadena address
- Purchase date
- Total amount paid (no handwritten amounts)
- Full, clear image (not folded, cropped, or blurry)
Do rewards expire?
Yes. Rewards expire after 3 months. You can view the expiration date in the app under your wallet.
Can I earn or redeem rewards in other cities?
No, rewards earned in Santa Clarita must be redeemed at participating Santa Clarita businesses.
I don't live in Santa Clarita, can I still participate?
Yes! Anyone can earn and redeem rewards—as long as the purchases are made at eligible Santa Clarita businesses.

What do I need to do to be part of the program?
Chances are your business is already included in the program at launch. Try searching for your business in the app and if you found it, then you are all set!
Please note: This is a pilot program currently limited to businesses located in Plum Commerce Center and Bouquet Plaza. Only businesses within these two shopping centers will appear in the program during the pilot phase. How do I let customers earn or redeem rewards at my business?
There is nothing you need to do! You don’t need to train any of your staff, add anything to your POS, or make any changes to how you do business. Simply business as usual. Everything is handled via the app directly with the customers. That means customers should always pay for their bills with you in full as they normally would when they make a purchase with you.
How Do I let customers know my business is part of the program?
