CITY OF SANTA CLARITA ANNOUNCES COWBOY PARTNERSHIP WITH
CALIFORNIA RESOURCES CORPORATION

CRC Will be the Presenting Sponsor of the Much Anticipated
Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival

The City of Santa Clarita is proud to announce a new community partnership with California Resources Corporation (CRC), the largest independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company, operating exclusively in California. CRC is the presenting sponsor of the 26th Annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, which will take place at William S. Hart Park in Old Town Newhall, on April 13 and 14, 2019. The annual festival features world-renowned musical artists, tantalizing cuisine, designer western gear, as well as a variety of cultural events and activities for all ages.

Todd A. Stevens, CRC’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said, “As a proud California company, CRC is dedicated to partnering with the City of Santa Clarita to support programs and activities that strengthen our community and champion local priorities. We are proud to be the presenting sponsor of the upcoming Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, which celebrates Santa Clarita’s rich Western heritage.”

With a local presence in the City of Santa Clarita, CRC has become an integral part of the business community throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. Working to provide Californians with ample, affordable and reliable energy exclusively from native production that reduces the State’s chronic and growing dependence on imported energy, CRC also serves as an active community partner. This includes outreach and support of veteran organizations, education and job training programs, as well as activities that protect the environment, promote public health and safety and empower communities. CRC has been recognized for its dedication to uplifting neighborhoods and working families, including being named the 2017 Humanitarian Company of the Year by the American Red Cross, Los Angeles Region.
The 2019 Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, presented by California Resources Corporation, will once again offer attendees FREE general admission. General admission includes access to a variety of cowboy cuisine and western wear vendors, activities like archery and mechanical bull riding, in addition to a full schedule of entertaining performances across five stages within Hart Park.

The Cowboy Festival will also feature a Cowboy Cook-Off for the first time, pitting BBQ masters against one another to determine whose BBQ is the best in the West. On Sunday, April 14, contestants will put secret family recipes to the test in the new Chili Cook-Off. Proceeds raised by the Chili Cook-Off will support Bridge to Home, a non-profit organization in Santa Clarita assisting those experiencing homelessness.

Those wishing to participate in these competitions can apply now at CowboyFestival.org, while those interested in sampling the entries may purchase tasting tickets.
